Go to your trusted mechanic and have your car examined.  Check all the car’s fluid  including the engine’s oil, gasoline, anti freeze, transmission fluid, radiator coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid and windshield washer fluid. Make sure that your battery is working properly.  If you see any weird things about it, have it check by a mechanic or replace it as soon as possible. Just a reminder, Batteries may last up to 3 to 6 years. You also need to check the tires of the car and it’s pressure. They are the ones who stays in contact to the road. They need to be in their perfect condition.  Don’t forget to bring a spare tire for emergency purposes.  Provide your car all the important accessories that will be essential for the trip. Some of the accessories that are worth using are the air bags, brake dust shields, car covers, car mats, car freshener, mud flaps seat covers, headlights, windshield wiper plates, tire covers, stereo, steering wheels, tail lights and covers. For some, they would tend to neglect to provide their car the needed accessories without knowing its significance. Let me take as an example the floor mats. These are ideal if you’ll be bringing children on your trip. They may be messy at the back seat, that’s where the car mats are needed. They protect the flooring of you car from food, spills and any other unwanted material. The floor mats are also a big help if you’re bringing your pets. Now, you’re all set and you can proceed to the next step.

Bring emergency kits including  flashlight, jumper wires, tire gauge, tire sealer inflator, pliers, screw divers, spare bulb for all the car’s lights or a spare headlight bulb, fuses, windshield water fluid, electrical tape and spare ignition key. All of these are useful for emergency purposes. Secure a first aid kit as well.
